Today September 5th, I am bringing you best wishes and thanks from our Cardinal for all your prayers and masses.
Some of you had told me that when you don't hear from me you think something wrong happens. No, it is the opposite. If you dont hear from me is sometimes I have to save time so I can be with the Cardinal.
God is watching over us always, each day and each moment of the day. All is well in his Love.
I bring you a lovely story today: Three days ago there is a group of people, from North Italy, who carried a very big sculpture, made of a tree, with the roots. The theme of this sculpture is "Peace of the World". They carried it as a pilgrimage all the way to Rome and to the Office of our Cardinal. It took quite few extra strong men to bring it upstairs and finally put in the end of the Office corridor. They said they had heard and read his books, specially the sculptor who admires his writing for a long time now.
Knowing he is not so well they did not wish to distube him, only asked to visit the Chapel of the Council of Justice and Peace, where they prayed and sang, then they asked to have a few minutes in his office, they said that where he works for Peace in the World and they stayed there a few moments praying… It was so touching that everyone who were there were in tears.
A monsignor from the Office brought a plaque of this sculpture dedicated to the Cardinal to his bed in hospital. He retold us this story.
Our Cardinal is always serene and he said: "Every day I look at the Cross (opposite his bed, on the wall) and I meditate.
Dear Friends, now I go back to the hospital to be with him. I always walk and pray at the same time and sharing my prayers and thoughts with all of you all over the world.
