Dear Father Nghi,

Yesterday 30th August, we also had mass in the cardinal's room and we also
sang a vietnamese song.. he was joining with us.

After Cardinal Etchegaray saw him for few minutes (usually visits are of
one, two minutes)he said to me: the cardinal is so sereine, it is an
extraordinary witness of the faith. He abandons himself totally with
serenity in the hands of God.

This morning he also was tired. When I arrived at 9:00 he looked at me and
said: very tired. Later he said: good to see you, how are you? you are
tired? I said no, I am so happy to be here with you. You just rest.

He always thinks of others, the other day he said to me: I give too much
work to the doctors, nurses..sisters.. they are very kind. I said to him:
brother, they love to take care of you, if you are not here someone else
will occupy this room, there are always patients in the hospital, and they
told me you are a wonderful patient and they are very happy to have you.
Then he felt better.
