are defendants in a (criminal) case facing charges of “Disorderly conduct” and "Destroying state's property" and were tried at lower court in Dong Da People's Court in Hanoi on Dec 8, 2008

We have filed an appeal on the verdict of the Dec. 8, 2008 criminal trial at the Dong -Da People's Court, Hanoi city.

We had also asked attorney Le Tran Luat - chief legal counsel at Luat Su Phap Quyen Law Offices- to represent us at the Appellate court.

On Sept. 1, 2009 the Hanoi People's Court had issued a Certificate of Representation number 01/HS-GCNNBC, approving Mr. Le Tran Luat as our legal counsel.
On March 13, 2009, Hanoi People's Court had sent out Notice of Appearance for the court of appeal proceeding at 8 am on March 27, 2009 at a branch of Hanoi People's Court (located at facility #2, 2 Nguyen Trai St, city of Ha Dong, Hanoi).

Recently we have learned that our attorney Mr. Le Tran Luat had been prevented by Ho Chi Minh City's police from flying to Hanoi to provide legal council to us.
We hereby motion to the Hanoi People's Court, the Department of Public Security, and Ho Chi Minh City's Police Dept. to provide him assistance, making it possible for attorney Le Tran Luat to arrive in Hanoi to provide us council in our appeal hearing on Mar 27, 2009, securing our right to legal representation according to due process.
